Platform Safety
Your Safety Is Our Priority
KneadIt was built from the ground up with safety at its core — for both therapists doing home visits and clients inviting a stranger into their space.
For Therapists
SOS Button
Every therapist dashboard has a prominent SOS button. Pressing it immediately alerts the KneadIt safety team with your last known location. Our team responds within minutes and will escalate to SAPS if needed.
Available at: /therapist/safety
Safety Check-In System
For every mobile appointment, check in when you depart, when you arrive, and when you complete. If a check-out is overdue, our system automatically alerts your trusted contacts.
- + Departed check-in alerts trusted contacts
- + Arrived check-in logs your location
- + Completion check-in closes the session
Trusted Contacts
Add up to 5 trusted contacts — family, friends, or colleagues. They receive SMS or WhatsApp notifications at each safety check-in point and are alerted immediately if you trigger an SOS.
Set up at: /therapist/safety
Client Verification
Every client on KneadIt is required to submit a South African ID for verification before their first booking. Verified clients display a badge on their profile that you can see before accepting a booking.
Reporting a Safety Concern
If you feel unsafe or experience inappropriate behaviour from a client, you can report it directly from the booking page. All reports are reviewed by our admin team within 24 hours. Accounts flagged for safety concerns are suspended pending investigation.
For urgent situations, call our safety line directly: 078 894 9331
For Clients
Therapist Verification
Every therapist on KneadIt undergoes identity verification and qualification checks before appearing in search results. Look for the Verified badge on therapist profiles.
- + ID document verified
- + Qualifications reviewed
- + AMTSA membership checked where applicable
Your ID Verification
We require a South African ID to protect therapists from anonymous bad actors. Your ID is securely stored and only accessible to our verification team. It is never shared with therapists.
How to Report a Therapist
If a therapist behaves inappropriately, you can report them directly from their profile page. All reports are reviewed by our admin team. For serious safety incidents, we recommend also contacting SAPS.
Safe Booking Practices
- Always book and pay through the KneadIt platform — never directly
- Share your appointment details with a trusted person
- Ensure a responsible adult is home during mobile appointments
- Verify the therapist's photo matches the person who arrives
- Trust your instincts — you can cancel and report at any time
